Parkers Crossroad's Battlefield Spring Lantern Walk; Parker's Crossroads Battlefield (Henderson County) -

Beginning at dusk, groups will be guided thru the battlefield by lantern light, with each walk lasting approximately 45 minutes.  Scenes of soldiers and civilians sharing stories taken from the letters and diaries of the period will highlight the tour. Visitors are asked to register at tour stop 7 which is located south of I-40.  Turn east onto Federal Lane traveling approximately 1/4 mile to the battlefield parking area.  The event is free to the public. Casey Jones Day; Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum; Jackson (Madison County) – Casey Jones' famous last ride took place 111 years ago on April 30th, 1900.  Heading toward Vaughan, Mississippi on his new route from Memphis, Jones, a railroad engineer for Illinois Central, heroically stayed with his passenger train in the now legendary train collision when another train stalled on the track ahead.  He saved the lives of all of his crew and passengers on board and his was the only life lost. An African-American engine wiper, Wallace Saunders, set Jones' deeds to song and the eventual "Ballad of Casey Jones" made Casey Jones a world wide folk hero and legend. 23rd Annual Sunset Symphony Orchestra Concert; Lawn of the Historic Cherry Mansion; Savannah (Hardin County) - Hosted by the Savannah Arts Commission, the concert will feature the Germantown Symphony Orchestra beginning at 6 pm.  Open to the public, this free performance is made possible through the efforts of Savannah Arts Commission, the City of Savannah and with the generous donations of local businesses and individuals supporting the arts.  Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets and gather on the lawn of the mansion near the platform stage. In case of incumbent weather, the concert will move indoors at the HCHS auditorium on Pickwick Road.  Donations are accepted at SAC, PO Box 1465, Savannah, TN 38372.
