Citizens of Brownsville and Haywood County have worked diligently to preserve our rich heritage so that all may enjoy it. A special walking/driving tour on tape and CD is available of homes and churches in the Brownsville Historic District, placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, and featuring majestic homes and churches. Other points of interest include College Hill Center, which houses three museums; the Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge; and the home of Blues legend “Sleepy” John Estes. The West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center provides visitors with information about West Tennessee and features three museums and a gift shop.

Chester County, “The Crossroads of Southwest Tennessee,” is near the heart of America where the quality of life is more than a slogan -- it is a lifestyle. Home of Freed-Hardeman University. Chickasaw State Park draws thousands each year as does the annual September Barbecue Festival. The Bear Trace Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, is located at Chickasaw State Park eight miles west of Henderson.

The Decatur County Chamber of Commerce is your business, industrial and tourism information source for Decatur County. Noteworthy are our five marinas and 25 boat docks offering easy access to recreation fun on the Tennessee River. Outdoor sites include Busseltown Wildlife Refuge and Beech Bend Park. Decatur County is host for many year-round events such as the World’s Largest Coon Hunt; July 4th Gumdale Boat Races; Scotts Hill Appreciation Day; and the Richard Crawley Memorial Trail Ride. The Community Action Network is an organization that serves as a partnership of all citizens, businesses, industries, local government, churches, schools, and civic groups with a common vision for improving the quality of life for everyone in Decatur County. The Hardeman County Chamber of Commerce offers rich information on its nine incorporated towns. Civil War and history enthusiasts will find interesting the Davis Bridge Battle site and 119 buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Outdoor enthusiasts and wildlife fans will appreciate the Hatchie River bottomland, which offers plentiful hunting and fishing. Visit both the Little Courthouse and National Bird Dog Museum. Annual Events include the National Field Trial Championship at the Ames Plantation, the Spring Tour of Homes & Historic Sites, the Tennessee Forest Festival, and the Ames Plantation Heritage Festival, as well as other events throughout the year. Enjoy Chickasaw State Park and Bolivar’s Historic Districts Walking Tour year round. Other activities available in the area are antiquing, golf and specialty shopping, which includes locally made pewter, apple butter and cider as well as fresh baked goods from the Mennonite bakery.

The Hardin County CVB is your source for information on Savannah, Shiloh, Pickwick Lake and Saltillo attractions, accommodations and events. Group tour/meeting/convention planning & coordinating services. Annual events include fishing tournaments, The Bluegrass Festival, Civil War Living History Demonstrations, 4th of July Fireworks, Darryl Worley’s Tennessee River Run, Victorian Christmas, NAIA National Championship Football Game,

Henderson County is halfway between Memphis and Nashville, just 11 miles south of I-40. The county features six major lakes with over 100 miles of shoreline. Henderson County is also the home of Tennessee's largest state park which encompasses 48,000 acres. Beech River Cultural Center and Museum focuses on the area's reformation thru the paleo area up to the end of World War II. Henderson County boasts two of West Tennessee’s most beautiful golf courses, Pine Tree Country Club and Falcon Ridge Golf Club. Annual events include the Freedom Day Lake Festival in May, Civil War Reenactment and Living History Demonstrations bi-annually in June at Parker’s Crossroads, Racking Horse Show in August at Parker’s Crossroads; National Championship Rodeo in August at Lexington’s Amis Park, the only free Fair in Tennessee in September, and Antique Farm and Tractor Show in September in Sardis.

McNairy County is famous for its legendary Sheriff “Walking Tall” Buford Pusser. Located near Pickwick Landing State Park, Shiloh National Military Park, and Shiloh Golf Course, McNairy County has lots to offer. Sites of interest include Coon Creek Science Center which is the 12th largest archeological dig in the world, the McNairy County Historical Museum, Big Hill Pond State Park, Hockaday Broom Museum, and the Buford Pusser Sheriff’s Office Museum. McNairy County also hosts the Buford Pusser Festival each Memorial Day Weekend and Cars for Kids that is held each Father’s Day Weekend, as well as other events and festivals throughout the year.
